The ORTEC Detective-EX is able to quickly and accurately differentiate between potentially dangerous and otherwise harmless radiation sources. It incorporates a high-purity germanium (HPGe), ultrahigh-resolution gamma ray detector that allows positive identification of gamma-emitting radioactive materials without expert intervention. Ametek's technology allows first responders, HAZMAT teams, fire departments, government authorities and others to quickly and reliably screen objects for potentially dangerous nuclear material without interfering with the normal flow of commerce at airports, border crossings, freight ports and transportation terminals.
